Who is writing the history of neurodiversity, and who is being written about?

Why the question matters

The sources easiest to find are mostly clinical and mostly Global North. If I build a literature review from availability, I will reproduce the exact erasure I am trying to study.

What I currently think

Deliberately weight neurodivergent-authored and minority-authored work, and treat podcasts, essays, and community writing as primary sources rather than as color.

What I am reading & learning

  • Giwa Onaiwu et al. (2017), All the Weight of Our Dreams
  • Autism in Black podcast · Maria Davis-Pierre
  • Grandin (1986); Williams (1992)
